Hamburger Helper!!!

Anyone got a quick last minute dinner idea for us tonight? I have a pound of ground beef I would like to use. Would like something quick, easy with basic ingredients (both kids are taking naps and a trip to the store won't be possible!).

Suggestions MOST appreciated!!

Sorry I didn't see this earlier! :)
But, FWIW --One of my favorite easy ground beef recipes is for beef stroganoff. You just dump the following into the browned and drained ground beef:
one packet of (Lipton) onion soup mix
3 Tbsp. flour
2 Tbsp. tomato paste
2 1/2 cups water
Simmer on medium heat for about 10 minutes until thickened.
Just before serving, stir in 1/2 cup sour cream.
Serve over egg noodles!

Funny I have chicken set out and no idea what to do with it! For some reason I have been blah with cooking lately. Poor Aric!! I will probably grill. That means I will get annoyed as I fix dinner. Annie has no appreciation for mom grilling. It makes her mad that I go in and out and she can't join. Maggie will jump around and go crazy. I am going to work to have a good attitude. : ) I hope you came up with dinner. I would have said meat patties. Those are just easy.

Little late but maybe you can save this for next time. I just tried this for the first time tonight and it was yummy! Brown 1 lb. ground beef. Drain, then add 1 can tomato soup, 1/2 cup water, 1 cup picante sauce or salsa, 8 corn tortillas cut in 1 inch pieces, 1/2 cup cheese. Bring to a boil, then cover and put on low for 5 minutes. Top with 1/2 cup more cheese & voila! Called Beef Taco Skillet

Yummy Katherine and Jenny! I definitely am tucking those recipes away for future reference!
Thanks for sharing!!!

I ended up making Meatball Soup (recipe in the Deceptively Delicious cookbook). I knew I had all the ingredients for it but it wasn't a very fast meal to prep. It tasted REALLY yummy though!

Hamburger Stroganoff Cassarole

brown the hamburger with onions and mushrooms if tolerated by family members.

Season with salt, pepper, and garlic

While you are doing that, boil macaroni or noodles

Cook some mixed vegetables or peas

Mix hamburger, macaroni, and mixed vegetables with 1 or 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup...or some other creamed soup, 1 tbs. of margarine or butter. Mix in a cup of shredded cheese and bake in a 350 degree oven until cheese melts and cassarole is hot.
