Auto Show

Welcome to the 2007 D.C. Auto Show recap!! As you can see, Faith was just as excited as her Daddy when we reached the front entrance. The show was an almost exact replica of last year's which was a little disappointing but we still really enjoyed the afternoon. Murray's favorite part was seeing all the cars valued over $200,000. Mine was finding a funnel cake at the Swiss Steak food stand. Here we are ready to begin our afternoon of car "shopping". I wish I knew how many cars were there...it was a crazy amount. Two levels of the Convention Center were filled....the Convention Center is HUGE!!

Aerial view of the lower level
Another view of the lower level (this was by far the greatest level).

Murray practicing his "Wheel of Fortune" wave.
This is one of Ford's Concept vehicles (meaning they aren't actually in production for those of you non-car people). I think it should be called "The Jetsons make over Scooby Doo's Mystery Machine"This was our favorite new model from the "practical" types...meaning, we could actually buy this and drive it around and no one would think we just won the lottery. It's a GMC Arcadia. It can seat 7 or 8 and has great trunk space.

This was my favorite new model. It's a Jeep Gladiator. (I'm pretty sure that's what it's called). It just looked neat to see a Pick-up with all the cool Jeep features.
Murray's faves were the Rolls Royces.

Another Rolls...these babies sell for $350,000 which is why they were all roped off so we couldn't sit in any of them. We did, however, see one in the parking lot at our local grocery store and Murray was so close to asking the driver if he could drive it around for 30 minutes (with the driver present, of course.). I was able to bring him back to reality and suggested that just looking at it would be a better idea.

Faith had a GREAT time at the show. I'll post some pics of her take on the auto show soon. I hope I got all the facts and names straight (not that I included many), but check the comments b/c I know Murray will post any corrections that need to be made.

Happy Birthday again, Murray! I've had fun celebrating with you all week! Coca-Cola cake tonight!! (I'll have to post that recipe too....it's SO YUMMY!!)

Blogworthy

So what does one consider blogworthy?? For us, just about anything involving Faith or any fun family memory usually qualifies!!

Tonight I had to take a break from our typical post to tell you about my friend, Ramona's, Pulled-Pork Tacos. They are too delicious for words and have been the topic of our conversation most of the night, therefore, I deem them blogworthy!!

I am part of a meal swap with 3 of my really good friends. Every other week we each select a meal to prepare for our families and then quadruple the recipe. We meet on the appt. Friday and swap meals giving each family a total of 8 meals (we half all the meals since each is a serving of 6) to enjoy over the next 2 weeks. It's been SO WONDERFUL to have the meals on hand and we've enjoyed tasting all the yummy new recipes! It's the best meal prep plan ever!! (I like the Dinner Done, Supper Super type places but they are a little expensive for us). Thanks girls, for another round of delicious dinners!!

For all of you wanting to taste Ramona's BLOGWORTHY Pork Tacos I've included the link below which is where Ramona found the recipe!! Enjoy and let me know what you think!!

Murray's Birthday tradition....

My Hubby LOVES cars. Last year, we discovered that the annual Washington D.C. Auto Show comes to town the week of Murray's birthday. Murray's sister, Melody, bought tickets for us to all attend. I was a bit fearful since Faith was barely a month old....but I knew how excited Murray was about the event so we all headed downtown to see the latest and greatest the auto industry had to offer.

Melody checking out the King Ranch Expedition (a totally "Texas" vehicle!!)

Murray and I tried out this Jeep exhibit. It was a really cool "ride" that showed off all the ways that Jeep models can handle the off roads. (Aunt Melody watched Faith from the sidelines!)

I am mesmerized by Murray's knowledge and passion for "cool" cars. He doesn't sit and read ANY car magazines, yet, he can tell you the make, model and year of a car from 50 feet away. It's truly amazing. He knows the value, how many were made (so of course, when we find a car on the road that has less than 1,000 in production, we have to speed up in order to get the best look.) On a trip back from AL, we were in a moving van hauling furniture to our home in VA and Murray spotted some really rare (and incredibly expensive...I'll let him add the details in the comments) car and he floored the u-haul truck to no avail...we didn't quite have the same get up and go as this car but MAN was he excited!! He has scared me a time or two when we've been driving around b/c all the sudden he'll yell out and I think something is terribly wrong. I begin scanning our surroundings and don't see anything out of the ordinary. He'll then point to a car and say (with more enthusiasm than you could ever imagine), "That's a _________ (enter in the name of a really cool, rare, expensive car!). And then all the facts about that car come spilling out of his mouth. (It's the cutest thing!! ) I just wish I had an ounce of knowledge to help add to the conversation. But I simply say, "whoa, you scared me!" and then, "Wow, that's really neat!" (Pretty lame, I know!!)

I love his passion and am more than happy to accompany him back to the D.C. Auto Show this year (5 more days!!). I'll post some pics from this year's show (with our 13 month old daughter in tow) next week. Stay tuned. I know you'll be blown away. I may even try to name the models in the pics this year.

Our Growing Lincoln?

Hey everyone, Murray here.

So the news it out now, we're expecting baby #2 in late June! As Chris B & I like to say, "Wha happened?" (from the latest movie in the Best In Show series...can't think of the name...)

Of course, I'm thrilled beyond words, stunned, excited, scared, ecstatic, all of the above.
I'm also quite humbled at the prospect of bringing another child into this world. But as "scary" as this world gets, God stays eternally good, all of the time, and provides us a way to live in the world but not of it.

Faithy & I accompanied Jaime to the doc this morning for her 16 week check-up. The baby's heartbeat was strong, 15o to 160 beats per minute. Doc says the baby is perfect and Jaime is just perfect, which I already knew back in July of 2001, but it's nice to hear a pro say it. We'll have a sonogram on Feb 8th, so we'll get a great glimpse of Fred or Fiona (do you like our names?). And no, those aren't for real, and no, we're not finding out until delivery day. :) Have I said how much I love my wife lately? Man, she is awesome.

Sometimes (recently) I look at Faithy and think, how can I love another little one as much as I love you? She's so beautiful and cheerful and funny and impatient and wobbly. I know, I know, my heart will keep expanding, there's enough love for everyone.

Ok, that's it, no point to this post...I'm just happy to be a daddy for the 2nd time, and wanted to say hello to all of my wife's blog fans. Faith's waking up from her nap, and I can't wait to see how far her red hair is sticking up!

Faith's year in review...

We have said it before and will probably continue to say it for awhile....We can't believe Faith is already 1 year old. It seems just like yesterday, we were at the hospital meeting this sweet baby for the very first time. We are SO THANKFUL for the countless gifts the Lord has given us this year, our favorite being our sweet daughter, Faith Kinder Sanderson. Here's a quick recap on her year in review....

We never knew how fast a year could go. We love you baby girl!! We look forward to countless memories and blessings from having you in our lives! Thank you God for this beautiful and precious child!!
