The Gospels

Quick Poll....

Which of the 4 Gospels is your favorite?

I am embarrassed to say that I don't recall reading any of them entirely through. We are about to embark on a road trip and I thought I would read them all and see which is my favorite. I'll let you know which one I like the best when we get back (is it ok to have a favorite?....seems kinda weird since they are all inspired by God). I'd love to also know why you chose the one you did.

Luke...because of the details. I especially like Luke's telling of the birth of Jesus.

Hi there!

I love the book of John especially John 13 where Jesus showed an example of humility and serving others, John 15 where Jesus explained the Vine and the branches and John 17 that Jesus prayed for those who love, obey and follow God (including us)!! :)

I love John, because John 1 states that Jesus, "the Word" was with God at the creation of the world and then that "He became flesh and dwelled among us...." In such clear, simple language John states both the power and diety of Christ and the grace, love and humility of our Savior--God, our creator, who became man...for our sake. In John, Jesus tells us to "love one another as I have loved you." and "by this, all men will know you are my disciples if you have love for one another." Then in John 14, Jesus tells us, "Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in Me. In my Father's house are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you. I go there to prepare a place for you so that you may be there also." I think a lot of us have leaned on that promise for the past several weeks especially. And then, after Jesus rose, He said to Peter, "Feed my sheep." He gave purpose to His friend who denied Him in the worst hour of His life, demonstrating not only grace and forgiveness, but the purpose by which we all must live. I also think it is funny that John referred to himself as the disciple whom Jesus loved.
