Please explain

We were only able to catch the last 45 minutes of the Idol finale last night. (Yes, I realize that we are one of the few houses left in America without Tivo...but we press on nonetheless).

I have to admit I lost MAJOR interest after Chris left the show.

One question still remains...can anyone help me understand the significance of "Soul Patrol" and why Taylor insists on saying it 6,000 times per show?

It is SO ANNOYING!!

Soul Patrol is his band's fan base. It's his way of acknowledging them. I think if we go back to your early idol posts, I predicted this would happen way back then.

Soul Patrol! ;-)

We don't have Tivo either. I don't even know how to spell it. Don't worry, we're both taking the road less traveled by.

I don't even watch American Idol. I had no idea who won until I heard it on the radio. so sad. . .

Shayna...I remember that and I also remember thinking that you (and the others who said the same) were crazy! I didn't get the "Taylor thing" at all...and frankly I still don't! O'well. It's a great show to watch. I'm glad it's over now but will look forward to it again in January.

Shayna, I hereby publicly acknowledge that you called it early on, that Taylor would win. I have to hand it to you. My pal Chris couldn't garner the young teenage girl vote, or fans who vote repeatedly. His fans (not unlike myself) were simply too cool to vote.
Chris lives!

I find it amazing that this show cuts across all age groups - even my 78 year old mother is a fan (of Katherine!)

I'm glad Taylor won - his entheusiasm is fun to watch - albeit a bit wierd.

However, I'm with you, Murray - I was a huge Chris fan ...and look forward to seeing what he does now!!!!
(see, even "old" people can enjoy rock!!! - after all, didn't our generation "invent" it????)
